Safe Food Handling
All organisations that prepare, cook or heat food for sale are required to register as a Food Business with their local Council. From here the Club will be assessed according to the type of foods and the risks which in turn will determine the level of requirements for the club. Click Here for more information.
Regardless of whether you require a Trained Food Safety Supervisor or not, it is worth considering ways to ensure volunteers understand the basics of food handling safety by:
- Displaying signs and instructions around food handling areas. Go to Helpful Resources under Healthy Eating for some starters
- Providing instruction sheets for activities away from the Club e.g. sausage sizzles
- Requesting volunteers do the Do Food Safely online training
- Hand Washing Poster\Food Safety Poster
