Generally, sporting clubs or associations do not meet the legal meaning of a charity, making direct tax deductable donations to a club challenging.   

The Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) has made it easy for community organisations to raise funds for the development of Australian Sport. 

Simply register your proposed project with the ASF, allowing people to make a tax deductible donation to the ASF nominating your club’s project as the preferred beneficiary.
