Leisure Networks is committed to Gender Equality.
The Barwon Game Changer aims to build gender equality in community sport and recreation clubs within the Barwon region by actively promoting the values of respect, inclusion and safety to all club members with a particular focus on increasing the gender diversity and broader representation of women in community sport and recreation in the Barwon Region; building the leadership and governance capability and increasing the number of women to put their hands up and take a seat at the committee/executive table.
Clubs are invited to be involved in the program which aims to equip clubs with all the knowledge and awareness what is required to build gender equality at your club. Clubs are invited to have a chat to the Project Coordinator to ensure the program is clear and that the club is ready to start addressing gender inequality.
Following an initial meeting between the Club Executive and the Project Coordinator a meeting and presention of hte project is done at your club. A major part of this meeting is the completion of a Club Gender Equality action plan which assists in the development of a Club Gender Equality Action Plan.
Once the action plan is developed, the club then implements identified actions at their own pace with the support of Leisure Networks through the optional delivery of Gender Equality training to club members and the Women in Sport Network Gatherings in addition to the first Women in Sport Leadership program which kicks off in June 2020.
More details about the Women in Sport Network Gatherings and the Womens Leadership Program can be found here.
